Top ## Songs of 2016
Bad Lip Reading - "Republican Debate Songs"
Bad Lip Reading made me die this year, probably more than anything else. These songs sung by the Republican presidential candidates slayed me, especially Ben Carson's closing number.
Radiohead - "Burn The Witch"
Well this was the first time I got excited for a Radiohead album in years. Just how I like my Radiohead: dissonant and paranoid
Vacation Jason - "Vacation"
Is he the most one-dimensional comedic creation since the hey-day of SNL's Copy Guy? Yes, he is, but that's why I love Vacation Jason. He can only relate to the world through the lens of his constant vacations. So I found out that he dropped a vacation-themed mixtape a few years ago, I was bound to love it. I actually plan on playing this on a Thai island this month.
Eminem - "Mom's Spaghetti"
Apparently this happened a few years ago, and I missed it somehow. I love this.
Lin-Manuel Miranda - "My Shot"
I finally listened to the Hamilton cast recording on a bike ride this spring. If you haven't signed on with the idea that this is an incredible musical, you're wrong.
Poli Genova - "If Love Was A Crime"
My pick from this year's Eurovision song contest.
Barei - "Say Yay!"
Probably my second pick from Eurovision. Neither of them won. But that's kind of the rule with Eurovision. The best song never wins.
The Avalanches - "Frankie Sinatra" and "Subways"
I'll definitely never forget when the Avalanches released "Frankie Sinatra," the first new song in fifteen years. Even if it isn't the best song on the album, it brought me back to their El Producto EP from the 90's. The best song on the album might be "Subways," but my favorite probably depends on the day.
Weird Paul - "Beach Ball"
The pride of Pittsburgh. This song is super DIY and silly fun.
The Chemical Brothers - "Go"
Yeah, it's a Chemical Brothers song. This got stuck in my head something awful this year.
Momus - "Dynamo"
Momus will hit streaks where uploads new songs on a daily basis. Incredibly, this one doesn't seem to be on his next album. (Maybe to do with the samples?) The simple lyrics are about one of my favorite subjects: Humanity's eminent demise. And the ecstatic music spins wildly out of control.
Domenique Dumont - "L'Espirit de l'Escalier"
From last year. But god if this isn't infectious. I could listen to this a hundred times in a row I think.
Moniker - "Ocean Blue"
Serves as the soundtrack during a delightful montage in Hunt For The Wilderpeople
Purity Ring - "Obedear"
Another one here because of a tv show. This is the theme song to Search Party.
Bad Lip Reading - "Seagulls! (Stop It Now!)"
We end the year the way we started it, with a song by Bad Lip Reading. Early this year, he made a Star Wars lip reading video with a segment where Yoda sings about a seagull. Caitlin and I loved it. Well, in November he made into a full song. November was a tough month, but let's remember it for this song instead of the other stuff.

8. Vacation Jason - Coconut Berry Lemon Tree
9. Aphex Twin - Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments pt2
10. Beyonce - Lemonade
Yeah, I know. That's the kind of list a madman makes. But those are the albums I heard this year, so sue me. That Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith one was quite the surprise, though.

The Was vs The Avalanches
Momus - "Dynamo"
Pussy Riot - "Straight Outta Vagina"
Greatest Live Music Moment
Seeing Neko Case in concert was a real treat. The highlight might've been when she broke out into the a capella "Nearly Midnight, Honolulu." That voice is something powerful.
Greatest Musical Moments
Whenever Matmos' "Ultimate Care II" truly sounds like its source material. But especially in the section that starts around the 10:00 mark, when in the middle of some electronic chimes, the washer releases water. No really, each time the water releases. That's that best moment in music.

Top Podcast Episodes
Oh No! Ross & Carrie basically spent nine episodes infiltrating Scientology, which was all really incredible, but my favorite is probably when they went to the Scientology New Yorks Eve party.
The Best Show's time-bending episode on Election Night which claimed to be a recording from 2006.
Hollywood Handbook spent almost a whole episode talking about Deadpool, the best bits being when Sean describes his difficulties getting a limited edition Deadpool pub glass at the movie theater.
Best Scharpling & Wurster Call
Probably when Ron McAllister from McAllister Family Dentistry calls up to talk about how his entire family practices dentistry, and then he say, "Why even Dentist The Meownace has gotten into the act, Tom!" Dentist the Meownace is the family's 15 year old cat/dental hygenist.
